SUMMER OF HER HEART

It was the summer of her heart

That lit up

The winter of my evenings

It was the warmth of her touch

That broke down

The frostbite of my afternoons

It was the fire of her lips

That set aflame

The blizzard of my mornings

It was the phoenix of her embrace

That tore apart

The icicles of my nights

With her fiery breeze

She swept across my glacial miles

With her searing notes

She lilted into my frigid ears

Sightless I saw

Soundless I heard

Formless I grasped

She whispered

And brought me to life
